Dundean Studios is a premier decorative painting studio, school and showroom in northern New Jersey serving New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, Carolinas and NYC market. We have a staff of instructors whose experience is unsurpassed in the decorative arts and faux painting trades. Our major focus is decorative painting instruction although we also have a specialty faux finish supply store so we do dedicate a lot of our resources into product support for the student and other professionals.
Our Faux Design courses at Dundean Studios encompass the complete range of hot finishes in demand today. Metallic paints and patinas, Polished concrete, Dimensional finishes like leather and Tuscan plaster, Italian plaster, single and double layer glazes, color instruction, material handling and most importantly, how to adjust when things go wrong. The classes are set up to teach faux finishes that you can actually sell, not just finishes that look good on a board but are impossible to make money rendering. Other places teach faux finishes that are 6, 7 or even eight layers thick which look great but are impractical to sell. We have a class in the new concrete oxidising or staining technique using Bella Venici products. Another cool product is the SkimStone concrete and counter top solution.
We offer a full day business course designed for the self-employed faux painting artisan who needs some guidance in estimating, sales and marketing, business structure and accounting practises. Our faux painting school in New Jersey is not product based so we teach with any and all materials that are readily available and best for the job at hand. One of our most popular decorative painting classes is Classic Furniture Painting. Learn how to turn today's tired furniture into tomorrow's antiques. Prepping, painting, and finishing kitchen cabinets is also covered.
